| NOTATION |   | FRACTIONS: I would not normally use slant fractions; however, it is the only way I know
to do it in this mode. This could create confusion or a wrong answer if I
did not use parentheses when multiplying a slant fraction by another factor.
I would expect your answers to use "straight over" fractions and not have these
extra parentheses (as in #18 in 8.2B.)
EXPONENTS: I will also have to use the ^ symbol to indicate something is raised to a power. Some of you may be familiar with this from your calculator. So for example, x^2 means "x squared". |
