Bagel - Pico - Ferme

This is a whole class game similar to MASTERMIND®.  Divide the class into two teams.  Team ONE will secretly choose a 3-digit number.  Team TWO will try to guess the number.  Each time a number is guessed, team ONE will give one of the clue words below to help team TWO refine their guess.  Teams will alternate guessing and giving the clues.  The team that guesses their number with the least number of guesses wins.

Clue words:
Bagel - no digit is correct
Pico - one digit is correct but in the wrong place
Ferme - one digit is correct and in the correct place

Alterations of the game:
For younger children, give three clue words each time - possibly in the correct order.  Also you might eliminate the possibility of repeating digits.
For more of a challenge, use more digits.
The game might also be played by giving the same number to one member of each time.  Rather than counting the number of guesses, the team who guesses correctly in the least amount of time wins.
