Policies

Class roll will be taken.  The necessity to attend class and lab on a regular basis will soon be apparent.   If you are tardy to class it is your responsibility to inform me.  If you must leave class early, please inform me before class begins.  If you cannot keep up in lab because you have cut class, I will not wait for you to catch up with the rest of the class.  Students are responsible for all announcements and assignments made in class.

Alternate test schedules will be arranged only when the absence from the test is cleared with the instructor well in advance.  In order to make up an exam with no prior notice, the absence must be legitimate (requires doctor’s excuse, etc.) The validity of the excuse is determined by the instructor.  Other makeup tests will be at the end of the semester.  If you are in grade trouble please come to see me before it is too late to salvage your grade.  My office location is noted above.

All work MUST be turned in on time.  I will NOT accept late work except in an emergency situation.  If you are absent from class on the day work is due, make sure someone turns in the work for you.  All work submitted for credit is expected to be the work of the individual student. Plagiarism will result in a grade of zero for ALL students involved.  To quote from your student hand book: "Violations of ACADEMIC HONESTY include:  C. Rendering unauthorized assistance to another student by knowingly permitting him or her to copy an ...assignment...to be submitted for academic credit.".

All current Jacksonville State University policies will apply.  "All students are expected to attend class fully prepared with appropriate materials and all devices which make noise turned to the off or silent position (e.g., cellular phones, personal stereos, etc.).  Any student behavior deemed disruptive by the professor will result in expulsion of the student from the classroom, with an absence for the day and possible disciplinary action."  According to the Americans with Disabilities Act, JSU will provide reasonable access and appropriate accommodations for otherwise qualified disabled students. If you need such access or accommodations, please consult with your professor immediately.

One 3.5" (IBM) diskette or a jump drive (included in book bundle)is needed for lab.  It is your responsibility to make sure that you have saved your homework in the correct format so that I can access it and grade it.
