Alabama Statewide Mathematics Contest - ACTM and AACTM

Organizations Sponsoring the
Alabama Statewide High School Mathematics Contest

The Alabama Council of Teachers of Mathematics (ACTM)

The Alabama Council of Teachers of Mathematics is the Alabama affiliate of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics, the major national organization for high school teachers of mathematics. Activities supported by ACTM include its annual state conference (each fall), the Alabama Journal of Mathematics (a joint project with AACTM), and the Alabama Statewide Mathematics Contest (also a joint project with AACTM). Members of ACTM receive the Alabama Journal of Mathematics automatically as a benefit of membership.

The Alabama Association of College Teachers of Mathematics (AACTM)

The Alabama Association of College Teachers of Mathematics is a loosely knit organization of college mathematics instructors. Its primary purpose is to help those who teach mathematics at the college level in Alabama establish and maintain professional contacts and personal friendships with each other. All those who teach mathematics in Alabama's colleges and universities are automatically considered members of AACTM. One Saturday each spring, usually in mid-February, AACTM holds its annual meeting featuring presentations and panel discussions on a variety of topics both mathematical and pedagogical (and occasionally political).
